Ray Malone
“I began drawing 'seriously' as a fifteen-sixteen-year-old, mostly portraits in pen or
pencil, and continued to draw, and occasionally paint, off and on for more than thirty
years, exhibiting once at the Royal Academy in 1967.
I left full-time employment in 1989 intending to write and paint, but shortly after,
following a brief period abroad, decided to devote myself entirely to art. Since then I
have worked continuously, producing a large body of abstract paintings and drawings,
mostly acrylic on paper, or sometimes canvas or board, and charcoal or graphite. I
continue to experiment with other media.”
