Sophie Coryndon
“Working with Artizan Editions has given me the opportunity to push my work futher because
of a deeper understanding of colours and their effect upon one another.
The technique of screenprinting lends itself perfectly to the way I work; building up
layers of transparent glazes to achieve the final image.”

Sophie Coryndon was born in Taunton in 1975 and gained a Fine Art degree from Cardiff in
1997. Since leaving Art College, Sophie’s work has varied enormously. Three months were
spent restoring hand painted 18thCentury wallpaper at Badminton House and two months
working on a film set recreating the Charleston interiors of the Bloomsbury group.
Alongside this work Sophie was undertaking a number of prestigious commissions for
sculpture and paintings.
In January 2000 Sophie joined the Lucy B Campbell Gallery in London and since then her
work has been shown and bought internationally by collectors and designers. Sophie now
lives with her husband and two children in East Sussex and concentrates solely on her
paintings and printmaking.
